Risography serves as a more environmentally-friendly alternative print process. The prints have been made with page masters, who only print onto recycled or FSC certified uncoated papers using soya or rice bran-based Riso inks.
This design is printed in black, aqua, yellow and fluorescent pink (which mix to make the range of colours depicted) on munken lynx 240gsm GH Smith paper.
Interaction of Currents brings together fragments of separate suminagashi prints, cut apart and recomposed into a single continuous surface. Each quadrant carries the trace of its original flow, yet in recomposition the currents meet, misalign, and form new chromatic relationships. Drawing on Josef Albers’ Interaction of Colour, the series examines how perception shifts when distinct surfaces are brought into dialogue. By reassembling four prints into one field, the work engages with the tension between continuity and disruption, and the quiet instability that emerges between the two.
Prints come unframed but my recommendation is a minimal mat-free glass frame in black, preferably with acid-free backing suitable for A3 sized prints.
